Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, USA strongly condemns the serial bomb blasts in Jaipur, India, on May 13, 2008. Sixty precious lives were lost and 200 innocent people were injured in this act of terrorism. Our prayers go to those who lost their loved ones and to the innocent victims.
The Press Trust of India reports, “Terrorists struck for the first time in Jaipur triggering eight serial blasts in a span of 12 minutes tonight in crowded market areas and near a Hanuman Temple in the walled city leaving at least 60 killed and 200 injured”. It further says, “Bangladesh-based Harkut-ul-Jehadi Islami(HuJI) is suspected to be behind the blasts that has taken the state authorities by surprise”. The Home Ministry sources said. “HuJI is banned in India and Bagladesh and is declared as the Foreign Terrorist Organization by the US State Department”. Although, no one can confirm at this time the real culprits, it is shockingly sad to observe such acts of terrorism perpetrated in a peaceful place like Jaipur. Such activities reflect a madness that is aimed at dividing and disrupting the otherwise peaceful pluralistic community. They serve no useful purpose.
We urge the all segments of the society to stay united regardless of their individual faiths and beliefs. Its about time that all religious, non-religious, political and non-political organizations condemn such disruptive acts and help the terror stricken community to rehabilitate itself and reaffirm the common resolve for the dignified peaceful co-existence which is a hall mark of our culture. We also urge the law enforcement authorities at all levels to act swiftly to identify the culprits and bring them to justice.
