Vijyadashmi Celebration by HSS USA145+ Shakas of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, USA  celebrated Vijaya Dashami Utsav during the weekends of October 16-17 and October 23-24, 2010. Hundreds of swayamsevaks, sevikas and guests participated in these events and also celebrated the day as foundation day of Sangh.

On November 7, 2010, HSS volunteers conducted first ever sangh event in Michigan Tech, by celebrating Indian festival of Diwali. The event was titled “Diwali Prabhat”. Nearly 70 students and faculty members attend the program. The program began at 8.00pm with “Laxmi Pooja” and iteration of “Sri-Sookta”, followed by “Sarawati- Vandana”.  Among other things, HSS's volunteers also conducted classical musical program and poem reading session.

March 2011 saw the coming together of youth (high school seniors, college students and young professionals) from 15 different states for the sambhag yuva varg, organized at three locations across the United States.  A total of 103 youth from 27 different colleges and universities participated in these one and a half day long Hindu youth empowerment camps (yuva varg).

On Saturday April 9, 2011 New England Vibhag celebrated Varsha Pratipada in the form of a Balamela in Oak Middle School in Shrewsbury, MA.  It was a beautiful spring day making it perfect for all the families to attend.  There were 350+ people who participated/enjoyed the Balamela.

Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA, Inc. (HSS) concluded its sixth annual “Health for Humanity” Yogathon on January 29th, 2012. During this two-weeks Yogathon, over  13,200 participants energized themselves up with more than one million repetitions of the yoga routine known as the Sun Salutation, or Surya Namaskar. The Yogathon was held at 230 different places from 39 US states and 5 countries in America, Asia, and Africa.

The fourth National Yuva Varg was held on the weekend of January 14 to 16 at the wonderful campsite of Camp Woodmen in Bellville, Texas. The preparation of the Varg started right after KKM from the last week of November.

Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, USA (HSS)  is pleased to announce the events in year 2013 to celebrate and commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary as, “Universal Peace through Dharma and Yoga”.  

Swami Vivekananda , born Narendra Nath Datta, on January 12, 1863, was the first Hindu monk who eloquently presented Hindu philosophy to the Western world.
