Dharma Bee is a nation wide quiz contest for kids with the theme ‘Discover your Hindu Heritage". Dharma Bee’s goals are to improve swadhyaya (learning) about Hindu dharma, increase bala/kishore participation in shakha and to improve quality of shikshaks. As part of HSS’s nationwide initiative, HSS Durga Shakha in Temple City, CA organized “Dharma Bee - 2020” program that began on February 9th, 2020. National team provided basic guidelines and resources such as syllabus, campaign materials, teaching strategies etc.

Hindus have many festivals throughout the year, however, HSS has selected 6 of them as they exemplify the positive values they convey to the community, and are celebrated not by Individuals or families but the entire community comes together to celebrate.  

Balagokulam Magazine, a publication of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, concluded its annual contest for the year 2011. The objective of the contest is to create a forum for children to express their creativity and relate Hindu cultural values in an interesting and exciting manner.

Starting from July 16th, a new balagokulam has been started in Hartford Connecticut. Families from Hartford area were in search of such family program which will engage their kids in creative activities. When they came to know about Balagokulam. After getting the idea, they started it and no wonder, their kids started liking it. While playing fun games, that include physical, mathematical, concentration and general knowledge games and quizzes, they have started learning Hindi and Sanskrit words also.

Kids of Sudharshan shakha (Sterling, VA) collected an impressive 900 lbs(more than 350 items) of canned and packaged foods to restock the shelves at the local Loudoun County Food Bank. The project was organized to bring seva awareness and to give kids the opportunity to learn about people who don't have the same luxuries as they do. The food drive started on February 7th and ended on March 7th 2008.

April 30, 2006 was a memorable day for the children of Krishna Balagokulam.

In place of their regular Sunday morning session, the children and the family members associated with the Alpharetta Balagokulam center visited an old-age home by the name ‘Tara Plantation’, located in Cumming, GA. The visit was organized in the spirit of instilling the seeds of ‘sewa’ or service in the tender minds of the children. The air was filled with enthusiasm and excitement as more than 30 children, accompanied by their family members, gathered at the old age home.

Ganesh puja by Children" event organized by The Shiv Shakti and Sri Krishna Balagokulams of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (Atlanta Vibhag) on September 17, 2005 in Shiv mandir at Global Mall, Norcross. The puja was performed on auspicious "Ananta Chaturdashi", last day of the 10-day Ganesh festival celebrations.
