HSS Hopeful that Judgment Will Advance Hindu Temple Construction
“Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA Inc. (HSS) welcomes the Allahabad High Court judgment as it clears away legal obstacles to the construction of a proper temple at the birthplace of Lord Rama. Hindus in the US earnestly hope that this is the beginning of a new era for Hindu-Muslim relations in India,” said Ved Nanda, President of the HSS.
Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), USA volunteers and fitness enthusiasts from all across the nation began the fifth year of annual Yogathon or "Surya Namaskar Yajna (SNY)" by offering 52,204 Surya Namaskars in 90 different places from 26 states. In a nationwide wave or lehar, 1239 participants performed total 4016 sets of Surya Namaskar (13 Surya Namaskars per set) starting from the East coast and ending in the West coast between 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM local time.
Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA (HSS) announces the fifth annual "Health for Humanity Yogathon" or "Surya Namaskar Yajna" by offering one million Sun Salutations, known as Surya Namaskar. The 16-day event aims to create awareness about Yoga and its advantages in achieving a healthy body, mind and spirit. Surya Namaskar integrates simple Yoga postures in 10-steps that, along with easy breathing technique, can provide immense health benefits to both the body and the mind.
Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA, Inc. (HSS) concluded its Fifth Annual “Health for Humanity Yogathon” on January 30, 2011. During this two-week Yogathon, despite unusual wintry weather throughout the US, over 10,122 participants warmed themselves up with 988,302 repetitions of the yoga routine known as the Sun Salutation, or Surya Namaskar, in 224 cities and towns from 38 states.

In a nationwide wave or lehar, 1984 participants performed total 5322 sets of Surya Namaskar (13 Surya Namaskars per set) starting from the East coast and ending in the West coast between 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM local time.
