Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, USA successfully concluded Health for Humanity Yogathon!
Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA, Inc. (HSS) concluded its Eleventh Annual Health for Humanity Yogathon on February 3rd, 2018. During the two-week Yogathon, over 11,254 participants from over 350 locations from 27 states across the US, participated in the yoga routine known as the Sun Salutation, or Surya Namaskara.
The Hindu Swayemsevak Sangh (HSS) condemns the heinous act of murder of Narayan Prasad Pokharel, chairman of the World Hindu Council-Nepal in the capital city of Kathmandu, Nepal.
In an atmosphere brimming with devotion, Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) of Bay area organized on September 9th a grand Ganesh Puja performed by children at the Sunnyvale Hindu Temple. The colorful setting was made serene yet lively by the sacred chants from the Hindu scriptures and the collective focus of the participants to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesh. The increasing participation seen year after year necessitated the Puja to be organized in two batches this time. Over 600 children along with about 1500 family members participated in the event with great enthusiasm.

HSS is saddened to hear about the death of Hindu spiritual leader, Swami Jagdishwarand, from New York. He was 70 years old.
Jagdishwarand ji, who started his religious discourses in 1960s and went on to establish Geeta Temple Ashram and Divya Dham in Queens, a Borough of New York City, died on Thursday,. The Geeta Temple was established in its own building in 1970-71 and is incorporated as a non-profit religious organization since 1973. As his congregation grew, the Indian-American Hindu community helped him to buy a new bigger site which became the permanent home of the temple.
