Balagokulam Dallas Metroplex had a family picnic on May 28th at WestLake Park, Lake Dallas, Texas. About 80 people – the young as well as the young at heart - from Irving, Plano, Flowermound, and Garland attended the picnic.

The picnic started with Prarthana, followed by games and a talent show by 4-11 year olds.  Although only 10 kids had registered, 20 kids gave a variety of amazing performances such as folk dance, classical dance, monologues, shloka recitals, and Bollywood songs. The talent show reflected the terrific creativity among the kids.

Recently, the swayamsevaks & sevikas of Erie shakha hosted Sakhi(सखि), a workshop designed for women, as a precursor to the Sakhi sammelan programme scheduled for August, as part of Vandaniya Mausiji's birth centenary.

The programme was held at Montessori Children's house of Erie on Saturday, June 4th, 2005. The faculty was Ms. Sayee Patil, who is currently pursuing Ph.D in Molecular Genetics at NY Medical College, who guided us in planning the sakhi sammelan for August. She was accompanied by Dr.Sarika, who delivered a lecture on women's health.

The Tampa branch of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh organized the first ever day long camps for kids in the age group 5-13 on Friday, June 24, 2005 at Sanatana Dharma Mandir and Saturday, June 25, 2005, at the Vishnu Mandir in Tampa. A two day camp was held in Atlanta, GA, from the 24th-26th of July, for sevikas between the ages of ten and thirteen.  The camp was organized in memory of Mausiji’s birth centenary, as well to expose sevikas to Hindu Dharma.

The Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh – kishor Swayamsevaks Camp took place July from the evening of July 31st till the evening of August 2nd, the venue being the Hindu Temple of Atlanta. The camp was organized for 10 to 15 year old sevaks in order to teach them about Hindu Dharma and other Hindu concepts, and was attended by 39 swayamsevaks. The sevaks arrived at the temple at around 6:00 p.m. and were situated by 8:00 p.m.

Yuva Sangam (Youth Camp) organized by Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh during the weekend of Oct. 1st & 2nd 2005, at Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca, served the purpose of creating awareness among the Hindu youth in the Mid-west of USA.
