Sangh updates and knowledge to share


The Hindu Heritage Camp was conducted on September 25th of 2005 in Chattanooga Gujarathi Samaj Temple under guidance of Dineshji, Hemanthji, Shekharji and Radhikaji. About 27 children from age group 4 to 14 attended the camp.

The Camp started at 9:00 am with brief introduction of participants and parents.

One day Hindu Heritage Camp was organized by Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) and Balagokulam volunteers in Apex on April 5, 2014. Thirty seven 5 to 12 year old children participated in the camp from Apex, Cary and Morrisville in North Carolina. There were 24 shishu (5-8 year old) and 13 bala (9-12 years old). The camp was to give a glimpse of Balagokulam program to children and parents of the area.

On April 17th and 19th, the HSS Satsang Balagokulam, located in Woburn, Massachusetts had a Hindu Heritage Camp, during the school vacation week in MA. There, a team of volunteers conducted activities with kids ages 5 through 12, with about 50 kids both each day. The groups were divided according to age, so the kids could do activities with kids of their own age.

The Hindu Culture and Dharmic Tradition from India exhibition was displayed over a period of five days at THE ST. PETERSBURG INTERNATIONAL FOLK FAIR (SPIFFS). The event was sponsored by the city of St. Petersburg and was held at the VINOY PARK in downtown St Petersburg from Wednesday March 14th through Sunday March 18th. A total of 32 countries participated, each displaying their unique traditions, art, culture, folklore, foods etc. in their respective village.

Sunday, 16th September, Chicago, IL: On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, two Chicago areas Balagokulams conducted the Ganesh Puja by kids. Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh's (HSS) Mundelein Balagokulam conducted the program along with Hindu Mandir of Lake County at the new inaugurated Mandir in Lake County, while the Naperville Balagokulam conducted its event at their newly established Balagokulam location at Eola Community Center in Naperville .

Sanskaar Balagokulam, Dallas, TX conducted Kaun Banega Ramayan Expert (KBRE) contest on the 63rd Independence Day of Bharat – 8/15/2010 from 10 AM to 3 PM. The contest was divided into various age groups for school-age children. Four local community organizers were invited to be the judges for this contest, including Shri. Arun ji Sharma, Houston Zone Secretary of HSS.
