Swayamsevak Sangh, USA (HSS) reached out US Congressmen and local
public officials during the month of August to celebrate Raksha Bandhan
and spread the message of communal harmony and that of social service.
Traditionally, in India Raksha Bandhan is an occasion to celebrate
special relation of brother and sister. For ages, sister ties a thread
called Rakhi to brother’s wrist and reminds him of his duties to protect
her. HSS celebrates Raksha Bandhan as Universal Oneness Day where our
individual responsibilities towards the society are remembered.
